We submitted an objection on behalf of our clients to the proposed demolition of agricultural buildings and erection of four dwellings in Crowhurst.

The objection set out the negative impact of the development on the rural settlement which has no facilities and the housing need in the local area had already been satisfied.

Additionally, the proposed development would have had a severe impact on heritage assets, the setting of a nearby Grade II* listed building and a listed church with one of the oldest yew trees in the country.

Furthermore, the justification for the proposal did not satisfy the very special circumstances to develop in the Green Belt. We successfully argued that the isolated development was inappropriate development in the Metropolitan Green Belt. The application has subsequently been refused.
