This application was made to convert a not very attractive portal framed agricultural building into two units of accommodation. The building is curtilage listed and therefore presented a few issues when negotiating with the Councils Conservation Officer.

Our team was able to demonstrate that the appearance of the building as it stands detracts from the setting of the host buildings, a listed barn and farmhouse, and that the conversion would represent an improvement to the site.

We also argued that the development adds two small dwellings to the windfall supply of housing in the area.
