The team have achieved planning permission for a racehorse training and stud yard in Hampshire.

Three large barns, which were no longer needed for agricultural purposes, were converted to incorporate loose boxes and storage for the horses. The yard also comprises a horse walker, gallops for training and large areas for parking and turning vehicles. The veterinary facility included foaling boxes.

The equestrian business provides a much-valued service to clients and the delicate stud work and foaling requires constant supervision and attention by the applicants who live on site. The farm’s historic use as a pig rearing unit meant the equestrian use results in a reduction in traffic movements.

The proposal is an excellent example of farm diversification which provides local jobs and contributes to the rural economy.
